How to develop a habit of Self Learning in Students?

The students of all grades must get into the practice of self-study. It not just helps the children in developing a deeper sense of confidence but also makes them independent. Here they will be able to make better connections between concepts as they can depend more on themselves than on others. Other than classroom study, preparation from a reliable reference material and Self-study is mandatory to achieve excellent results in CBSE Board Exams.

Here are some tips to make the process simpler and effective at the same time.

1) Teach Others

The students can make the best out of a new concept when they explain it to others. So when you come across something that was harder to understand, make sure that you make others understand as well. This will consolidate that particular concept while letting you know what all explanation is required to make the point home. This information will help while writing the answer as you will be aware what is to be written.

2) Master Skill-ology

‘ology’ is a prefix used after particular groups of knowledge. So, whether you have chosen subjects with this prefix or not, you can still build a noticeable expertise in it. The skills that you have mastered by taking the theoretical knowledge to its practical prominence will help you beyond the academic tests.

3) Follow a Progressive Approach

Always try to better yourself, each day. More revision along with hands on practice leads to concept acquisition at its best. Answer formation and Conceptual Understanding both becomes easier with a progressive mindset towards success. Head towards the next concept/chapter only when you feel contented and is sure enough that no further refining is required.

4) Ask Questions

The questions arise when interest is available. Students form questions on their own to deal with all their doubts. As no question either means ALL or NO understanding at all. Read, Revise and Explore as much as possible to build a great deal about the Academics. When they are able to understand how to form a question and subsequently answer that on their own, they understand the key points to give a stable structure to their understanding levels.
